Massage & Reiki Policies
Please be aware of our client booking and cancellation policies for massage & Reiki appointments as described below.
You automatically agree to these policies by scheduling, so please make sure you have read through them.
Credit Card Prepayment
Please be aware when booking appointments with credit card prepayment, you may reschedule the appointment if needed prior to the 24 hour cancellation/reschedule without penalty window. Unfortunately, due to the rise in CC processing fees, if you cancel the appointment entirely, prior to the 24 hour cancellation window, you will still be charged a $6 credit card processing fee. Thank you for your understanding in that this fee does not entirely cover our independent business’ loss for canceled appointments, which has become prohibitive.
For gift card purchases, refunded gift cards will also incur the $6 CC loss.
If you are not sure about your appointment scheduling and don't want to risk the $6 loss, please email connect@zelahllc.com for questions and alternative payment methods.
Changes within 24 hours of appointment
If you cancel your appointment within less than 24 hours of the scheduled time, or do not show up to your appointment, or request to reschedule within that time frame, you will be charged the full appointment fee.
If you book an appointment and then cancel it at any time, you will be charged a $6 credit card processing fee (unless you choose to reschedule or keep the full fee in store credit for future booking).
Rescheduling
Outside of the 24 hour window, appointments can be rescheduled by the client within the booking system without penalty. However, appointments can only be rescheduled twice before you receive a warning message that the third selected time will be the final rescheduling opportunity.
Late arrivals
Please note that arriving late to your session may result in a shorter appointment to not penalize clients booking after you. Clients over 20 minutes late may not be seen and will be charged a cancellation fee.
No show
No show clients will be charged the full amount.
Exception: If you have to cancel your massage due to going into labor, we of course make an exception and refund your fee to store credit for use in scheduling a postpartum massage.
Reiki Acknowledgments
By booking, the client also confirms that they read and understand the following:
Upon booking any Reiki session or Holy Fire® Healing Experience with Zelah Healing Arts, the client acknowledges their active role in the healing and coaching process and assumes responsibility for their personal outcomes, integration, and any actions they choose to take following their session. Zelah Healing Arts provides a safer space, massage therapy, Reiki experiences and sessions and supportive insight may be offered to help clients increase self-awareness, clarify goals, and integrate their experience; however, lasting change depends on the client’s willingness to engage with the process and apply what is revealed.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Prenatal massage is not a one-size-fits-all approach; the session is tailored to your specific needs and concerns. Massage supports a healthy pregnancy by relieving muscular tension, improving circulation, improving emotional wellbeing, and reducing stress, while supporting your changing posture, and preparing your body for labor.
Perinatal massage is not limited to pregnancy; it extends into the postpartum period, aiding recovery by addressing muscle soreness, reducing edema / bloating, and promoting healing.
A big difference in prenatal massage is the positioning—your session will be mainly or fully side-lying with plenty of bolsters and/or pillows to keep you comfortable, safe, and aligned.
-
Yes! As with any population, there are times where massage may be a contraindication, but they tend to be associated with high risk conditions such as preeclampsia. Massage does not, and cannot, cause a miscarriage.
-
Reiki is based on the idea that we each have a natural life-force energy. In a Reiki session, the practitioner acts as a channel for “universal” life-force energy, placing their hands lightly on or just above specific areas of the body to support the free flow of this energy. Reiki can take place above the body or with gentle, hands-on placement.
-
Reiki is a gentle, noninvasive energy therapy with no serious side effects—it's safe for most people when received from a trained qualified practitioner. Some clients have had mild, temporary responses like slight fatigue, a mild headache, or emotional release (such as light tears or unexpected calm) as the body relaxes deeply and processes stored tension. These typically pass within a day and signal natural integration.
Reiki complements, it does not replace nor is it a substitute for medical care. Clients can consult their doctor if pregnant, epileptic, or managing serious health conditions for further guidance or concerns.
Clients often find most mind, body and/or spiritual shifts affirming, confirming their session intentions and goals at work.
